Part D, Prescription Drugs

Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage is available to anyone who is also eligible for Original Medicare. Medicare Part D is purchased through a private insurance company that is contracted with Medicare to offer these plans. Insurers offer different types of plans. Your cost for the plan and your out-of-pocket expenses for prescription drugs will vary depending on the provider. Each carrier has their own formulary (preferred drug list).
